Franz Ackermann

Neumarkt-Sankt Veit, Germany, 1963

Centered on the themes of travel, globalization and urbanism, Ackermann’s paintings and installations are marked by a palette of fluorescent tones. By mixing street maps, landscapes and façades, he creates non-places, and constantly refers to the good and bad experiences of tourism. In 2011, the artist moved to Brazil to produce the exhibition Olhar externo, about his experience with the city of São Paulo.
